If neither of you want to be the one who ended it, doesn't that mean you BOTH regret breaking up? Sounds to me like you both still care and want it to work. I think you should tell him gently how you feel, if you really can't stop thinking about him. But make sure you don't put pressure on him and you mustn't let your friendship become awkward afterwards (just keep joking and don't bring it up) or else you risk losing him as a friend. But it sounds to me like he wants you back too. Good luck!

Did you ever think that maybe your break-up was a little more on impulse rather than thoroughly thinking it out? Sounds like you both want to be with each other. Especially if he's saying that you broke up with him; people don't like to have their partner break up with them...which means, he still wants to be with you. So if you want him back, you might as well tell him that.

I agree with Mike, start over. And maybe you could tell him that you like the way things are now between you, but you also like the way things were before, and does he think there might be a way to put the two together? because you would really like more

hmm...this sounds like an episode of "friends"

Just tell him, nuthin wrong with that, if you end up together, thats all the better, if not...your still better off, because you could have gone on for weeks, or months, or years not knowing what might have been.

talk to him. ask him what is going on. it's not fair to send mix signals. he has to decide what he wants: romance or friendship. he can't flirt but say he only wants to be friends if its hurting you because you want more. its confusing and hurtful. just talk to him about how you are feeling and ask him about his feelings.
