We recently adopted a set of kittens from a local feral mother. One kitten seems to have a normal anus, but the other one's sticks out way more than the other one. It is obvious to anyone who looks at her. I cannot see any redness or what would appear to be sections of bowel or intestine. It basically looks puffy and poochy, like when someone purses and sticks out their lips. Is this common? Is their typically variation between "normal" anus'?Or does it indicate a potential medical condition?

Your kitten has rectal prolapse. Please get her to a vet ASAP.
Please read the info below:
Animals with rectal prolapse have a fair chance of recovering with appropriate treatment. It is crucial to take your pet to the veterinarian as soon as possible if you suspect rectal prolapse. Dogs and cats do not get hemorrhoids so any tissue that protrudes from the anus is abnormal. Try to keep the tissue moist with warm wet washcloths and do not allow your pet to lick or chew at the tissue. Keeping the tissue moist and free of trauma will give it the best chance of being repaired.

Hope your kitty recovers quickly.

May be blocked or impacted. The cat needs a vet. If its a tailless cat or partial tailed the cat could have continued problems. Purina cat chow is not the best to feed. I would put him on a higher quality food like Wellness, Blue Buffalo or Natural Balance in canned and dry. All dry can have problems.

This kitten should be taken to a vet ASAP. Sounds like it could be an anal gland issue which may be infected. Untreated the gland could rupture. It could also be worms. Since the mother was feral it is imperative you get the kittens checked out by a vet immediately to ensure their good health and yours

Take the cat to a vet and show them. There might be something really wrong with your cat.
