You go out with a new guy (you have been out a couple times before) and he takes you too a fairly decent restaraunt where you like the food but he only orders chips and salsa! It isn't a speciallty dip tray or anything, just the plain chips and salsa they serve you for free before your meal is ready only it costs 3 75 to order them alone. I think it is cheap of the guy.

Dump him! He is so cheap! If you go to a nice restaurant you should be expecting a nice meal! We all deserve it!

It's cheap; but maybe he couldn't afford anything else but wanted to be around you. Next time, you both should pay for half or something, then you can have a nicer meal. Or maybe just hang out where food is not involved. Or, he's a cheapo and was seeing how little he could do to get you where he wanted you. In that case, dump him!

Yes it is cheap! I would feel terribly awkward having lunch with this guy. If I were you I would have a couple of more dates with him to see if he's always like that and if he is ask him "you're not hungry?" If you don't get a fairly decent answer chances are he's a cheap scum bag.

It's not cheap...maybe thats what he wanted. Don't judge him based on that. Besides you can look at that as a good things cuz usually the flashy, trying-to-impree-you-kind-ofguys woudl order something big and expensive that they probably don't want or have never eaten just to impress you. Sooo the fact that he orders something simple and to his liking shows you that he's real and str8 up about what he does!

It would depend on whether you went there for a snack, or whether it was a "dinner date". If it was a dinner date, then I would personally find it offensive that he ordered for the both of you w/o asking what you'd like ! You should've ordered whatever you wanted and made it clear that YOU would be paying for your own food.

Did he at least tell you to order something? Did you ask him about it? Did you offer to pay for dinner? there are a lot of different circumstances, need more information. If he asked you out and it was for dinner, than ya, he is cheap.

Maybe that's all he wanted to eat. When you get craving for some chips and salsa ain't nothin gonna stop you.

You should have expressed your hunger, and just came out with it, are we here for dinner or a quick snack. Honesty is always the best way to start, and end.

Well I think that is kind of cheap of him, BUT at least you know he wasn't interested in the food, but instead, interested in being with YOU!
