In a recent discovery, scientists are claiming that removing the tonsilitis from a child suffering with ADHD cures the child. It may sound very odd to you, but this is the truth.

My son is now 10. He was diagnosed with ADHD in 1st grade. Now I can only speak from experince but the bulk of my sons problems were in school. He did get kicked out of school in first grade. Fortunately we have found a school program that works for him that and meds he has been doing very well. When the school problems were fixed home got much better. But it was a long road and a big fight with the school system.

First I would ask does your son have an IEP in school? ADHD is considered a health impairment in the school system. The school system should be working with you to come up with a program that willl work for your son.

If you have any questions feel free to email me.

i know exactly what you are taking about--my step son was the devil incarnate--lol we tried meds, punishments eveything you can think of--finally i took him off meds (they werent working and i dont like the long term side affects) and i changed his diet--no sugars, caffiene, chocolate etc...he only had those kinds of things as a very special reward once or twice a month, and only when he was going to be around me when he had those things...basically he had completely healthy meals and snacks--and i got his doctor to order the school to follow my diet plan to the tee no exceptions no matter what...there is scientific proof that a nutrional diet void of preservatives, sugar, caffiene etc can help controo an adhd child...fruits, veggies, meats, cheese crackers etc...try it and give it some time to work also vitamons everyday and water whenever possible, use that with the reward, punishment thing--adhd is sometimes a hinderence when it is put as a lable on a child because then it gives you guilt for punishing, and them an excuse to act worse than they actually have the excuse for--i know quite a few people who have kids who were diagnosed adhd and didnt even have it--we all took our kids off meds, and changed their diet--kids dont know the diference between sugar free and sugar, etc...try the diet thing give it about 2-3 weeks for his body to get the "nasties" out and the diet to have a chance to work, then start back with minor punishments for the things you know arent adhd, but him using that as an excuse---i know it sounds like it wont work, but you would be surprized what a good healthy diet can do for anychild..both my natural kids are hyper, and sugars and things affect them as it would an adhd kid, so i cut those things out, and they slep better, deal with their feelings better, have more energy etc...give it a shot--personally i tried everything i could think of before i put my step son on meds-they cause serious side effect that you wont even see til they hit puberty or adulthood..my nephew was misdiagnosed as a child, and took adhd meds for his entire childhood(til he was 18) now he has a bad tick, difficulty concentrating etc--basically the meds turned him into an adhd person when he wasnt to begin with--you may try getting more professional opinions--did you know that 97%of the symptoms of adhd every single child has and arent adhd? it is still an inexact science, and sometimes an excuse to medicate children to make them easier to handle in schools etc everysince all the issues starting happening in schools, the amount of children on adhd meds has increased 3 times.

I really dont know what to tell you. My brother was that way too. All we did was be consistent with his punishments, and he did eventually grow up to be a good man. I wish I knew what to tell you, I just know its going to be hard. Be strong!! And good luck!

I have heard that having him chew on a coffee bean or drinking a coke or pepsi might make him more controlable. For most us it would make us more hyper but for others it brings them down.
