leave her alone ( and quit attributing human emotions to her - that she would like )

Cats are naturally weary but I had the same problem with one of mine. They are both 21 weeks old, 1 boy 1 girl and they are brother and sister. Rudi the boy is a complete wuss. As I type this he is wrapped around my neck and shoulders, purring away in my ear, drooling down my neck and massaging my shoulder with his claws...and has been since about 8 o'clock this evening.
Gertie on the other hand is sat on the TV watching me intently, with a look that says " I want to be doing that, but I am too timid". Although she has lately become more affectionate she can still be very aloof.
The best way to bring them round is to get some nice treats, I use Nutro Choice Organic chicken and cheese treats (I know it's a bit poncey but it means they are more healthy than wiskas and I can give them a good few without them getting an upset tummy). Give her a treat (best to put the other cat in a separate room for this one) and as she is on your lap gently stroke her and talk to her in a soft voice or make a specific noise she can associate with the giving of treats/stroking and cuddling.
Over time, It took about a week for Gertie, she will come to you naturally when you make that noise for some cuddles, and as she get more confident and bonds with you she will eventually come to you of her own accord.
Another hint, all cats have their own favourite spot the love to have tickled or massaged. Just like a new boyfriend/girlfriend, you have to find it...but once you do, they will love you for ever
I hope you get her to come round, a cuddly cat is much better than a timid one
Good luck
David Rudi & Gertie

Don't stress so much its just a little scaredy-cat and probably more timid cos it does not wish to get hurt by the other cat.
If the other cat appears to be the boss it is just deferring to top cat in respect so it stays in one piece.
If you get the chance to give this underdog (pardon the expression) some one 2 one time when the other ain't around then feel free 2 reassure it that you love it the same.
All cats love TLC when they are in the mood! whether its to play, snooze on your lap,or hang around you when your doin something.
cats can b solitary or aloof its just their nature

I don't really believe a cat can rationalize love as to one getting more than the other. Try giving her cat nip to help her relax, maybe you could leave the other cat in a different room and give the one that is timid some speacial time.

Rub her tummy while talking to her softly. Also note, the timidity might not be from her thinking you love the other one more.....she could just be a shy cat.
I'd buy a kitty wiggler and wiggle it in front of her.

Well i'm not a fan of cats but they r very cute give the cat all the attention but at the same time give the other cat the love it needs. Feed them the same amount of food and if you want to stoke one of them stroke both of them

Give her kitty bitties and cream. If you fish share. Get treats at the grocery store. Cats go where there is the best deal and care about "Whats in it for me". one can throw a ball for a dog to retreve and the dog will obsequiously retreve. A cat would clean itself without giving the dignilty of a look.

When they are in the room together, go to the timid one first but on the whole treat them both the same.

i have a god and two cats. It is the same way. You should try to get her away from the other and show her love as much as you can.

Just keep lovin' her. I had 4 cats for 14 yrs and they all had very different personalities. Even though we had them all, since they were kittens, our grey Persian, Micah, never really liked to cuddle up to us or be very friendly. I think that is just how some cats are. We just continued to love on her and I know she knew we loved her.

I had this issue when I got my 2nd cat. I got so frustrated because the new kitty would always hide under the bed because the old kitty would hiss at her when she would even walk by. I would just get both of them in the same room and pet them both at the same time. Eventually I was able to have both in my arms at the same time. Now they can't live without eachother!! Just be patient and they will come around.
