I have a bit of a problem, I am terribly guy shy. Even if I don't have a crush on a guy, I'm afraid to talk to him. Any ways for me to get over it?

the best way to beat a fear is by doing what you are afraid of! now that the corny crap is out of the way ( how ever it is true ). Go up to people and just start talking! get out of your comfort zone.

The only advice I can give you is for you do know that guys love girls. You really don't have to do much at all but be friendly. I know about shy but I also know that if someone shows interest I am fine.

If a guy shows interest in you just go with it. Talk with him like he is your brother or something. If a guy is funny I would think you would loosen up then.

Just don't take it all too seriously. Don't be afraid of guys. There are a number of jerks out there you don't want to have anything to do with but many that are just right for you.

If a guy trying to talk to you just smile and follow the conversation.
As you know shyness makes it look like your stuck up. Smiling can make all the difference.

Put the crush thing aside. Start becoming friends with him first. This way you guys will get to know each other without any pressure. Be friends and see what happens.

There really is no need to be shy around guys. Just try to be yourself and don't be flirtatious. Guys are usually nervous enough around girls for the both of you. Try to feel more confident, guys don't talk to girls unless they like them (not only sexually), so you should feel happy that they do talk to you... kind of like a little ego boost.

Not sure if it would help for you or if you'd be interested...but...I suggest learning ASL (American Sign Language). I was EXTREMELY shy too, but you can't really be shy in sign or it doesn't work too well, so it pushes you out there and helps you get stronger with ignoring people and how they look at you.

At least, it helped for me :D
