Isn't this quotation given out of context? I am a Catholic woman, and I don't feel the need to endorse the above quotation, but I do feel the need to question your logic and to point out your not too subtly displayed contempt for Islam and Mohammed. I know from studying history that Mohammed was a much more moderate and considerate leader than many many other religious leaders have been. I think it is fair to mistrust in the current times, but I think you do yourself an injustice asking questions which are designed to inflame and be clever rather than asking questions which are designed to inform and be smart.
Just an observation. Don't forget, the Western world only recognised women as people and then as citizens with full voting rights in the last one hundred years. It is only in the last thirty years that a woman could divorce her husband. We aren't exactly the pillars of humanity here, either. Women still get paid less for the same jobs, still do the majority of work in society (parenting, home and outside the home) and still enjoy the fewest benefits and protections of the law.
Human beings are, by and large, "insecure little animals",one and all.

You have to get the facts straight before you conclude. There is a reason behind why Prophet Mohammed said that . It is because most women usually gossip, backbite (talking about someone behind their back even it it's true), or slander (talk about someone behind their back and it's a lie).

Another reason is the fact that some women aren't satisfied. There was a story that another prophet had a son and he was married and he was living well. The prophet came to visit him and the son was not there. The wife did not know that he was his father or the prophet. He asked how were they as the wife let him in. She compained about their living conditions and how bad everything is but in truth eveything was satisfying and well. After he left he met up with his son. He told him I visited your house. You need to change your front step. The son understood what he meant and divorced his wife. Then he married again. His living conditions were not very well. Then the prophet visited again. This wife did not know that he was the prophet or the father either. Once he stepped in he asked how is there life. This wife complimented everything about their living conditions good and did not complain even though their living conditions weren't as well as before. He smiled and left.

This story is an example of what Prophet Mohammad meant that some women were ungrateful to there husbands.

You should read what christians or orthodox jews should have to say ab women, the prophet(pbuh) never said the Allah's justice system was harsher on women, if you said the majority of class was female if there 12 out of 20 females would you be wrong,NO. Lastly the prophet(pbuh) said the best of you will be the ones who treat your wife the best

yes insecure.... clearly he was too ugly to get even a date, so fantasized pay back to all the masses of women who had turned him down, and then fantasized about all the sex he was gonna have in heaven.
