I know that in general Toronto is a pretty safe city, but all cities have a rough area and there's also been lot's of gang problems in Toronto from what I've heard. What part of Toronto is the most dangerous? Like a suburb or area?

The suburbs are pretty safe. Rexdale and Scarborough have bad reputations, but some parts of both are really nice.
In the city, Regent Park (east) and Parkdale (west) are best to avoid at night. But I've walked through Parkdale many times at midnight and it's not like people die. There's maybe a shooting every few months, which is more than most places.

The Jane & Finch area (Rexdale) in the north west and an area called Malvern in the north east (Scarborough)
and as far as Regent Park is concearned it was all torn down about a year ago
the places your talking about are low income housing areas
with a prevelant drug problem
annually toronto has about 60 murders, and there's about 4 million people living here
Toronto is basicly a safe city,

Scarborough, Parkdale, Jane-Finch, and Regent Park are about the worst. But you can also get shot in the middle of downtown in broad daylight.

Just what the person above me said. It can be from Jane strip, too (from Wilson to Steeles). It can also be in downtown, too.
