Actually you can still have the chocolate but in moderation. I heard(so I am not sure how true it is) that the french will finish their meal with a small piece of chocolate. What you do is take a small square of pure chocolate and let it melt in your mouth. That way you enjoy the full taste of the chocolate and it helps quench later cravings for food, sweets, and chocolate. It works for me!
Try breaking off a piece of a hershey bar, or buy a bag of Dove chocolate squares and limit yourself to one after dinner.
Hope that helps!

Chocolate is actually addictive and some people find themselves craving it. The amount you are eating is definitely unhealthy. The best thing is to substitute other sweet tasting things that are less addictive and more healthy, so you "fool" your palate. Sweet fruits like raisins, grapes, dried apricots or honey-based cereal bars (without sugar) are a suggestion. If you do this and stop the chocolate altogether for a couple of weeks, you'll be amazed to find that the craving has pretty much disappeared.

If you really crave chocolate, you should have it. Just control how much you eat. Get a really nice bar of dark chocolate and just have a little of it after a meal.
Or, if you're worried about the calories, eat less calories at some other part of your meal so you can eat chocolate later. My nutrition teacher loved Ben and Jerry's icecream because he grew up close to the factory. He switched to drinking skim milk so that he could eat more ice cream for dessert.
Chocolate itself isn't bad for you. It's the sugar and fat that they add to it that's bad for you. Chocolate has antioxidants.

Hi i can understand where your coming from i eat loads of the stuff 3 or 4 a day more when hormones kick in . I just decided to eat it when my body says to, i trust my body to tell me what it needs. I always go for a super chocolatey fix like Galxay or dairy milk that way i wont eat as much. I think my body needs sugar for energy as i run my self ragid all day, and i dont really have time to sit and eat its usually sarnys n chocolate. But i cant grumble it keeps my weight down, im about a size 8 or 10.So i say go on give in to what small comforts you have. From a fellow chocoholic.

After your meal clean your teeth or when you crave the choc I found the best way to overcome the choc eating is to have the chocolate in the house but deny yourself you are then in control through time you will be able to have choc when you want if it is an addiction treat it so

Keeping a food diary is waaayyy too revealing!! I, too, love my chocolate. I either have one or two Kisses and let them melt in my mouth OR have a small piece of dark chocolate and let it melt. You get the satisfaction of the chocolate, but not all the calories. Plus, with the dark stuff (which took some getting used to!), you get good things, like antioxidants and such.
Good luck!!!

try dried fruit that has a really sweet taste... maybe apricots...
Also, when I feel like I need a chocolate fix I'll eat a Luna bar (many of those have a chocolate coating on them....mmmmm...)
You may also want to try Carob.... as a healthier alternative to the chocolate.

How about sugar free hot chocolate? I know its not the same, but it's worth a try. Or maybe some Hershey syrup in some skim milk.

Yes one after every meal is way too much! maximum you should have one day if youre eating them on a regular basis.
Try eating something like trackers instead, they have cho chips but also nuts to give you essential fatty acids and omega 3's.
Alternatively, just eat a jaffa cake, they have 1 g fat per cake. But only eat one!
