because years ago she had said something about their son. The women was 97 and senile, I am having a hard time reconciling my relationship with them after this. I am offended and deeply saddened that two people who lived mere minutes from where my grandma was dying refused to go see her. I live a few states away and was unable to make it on the day she died, she went very quickly. so this wonderful woman died in a home, with no family around her when they could have gone to sit with her. These people call themselves christians. What can I do to make things better between us?

The only people they are hurting is themselves when they decide to reject a loved one for whatever the reason. You are doing the same by rejecting them for a decision that didn't involve you. It was between them and your grandmother and I sure there is guilt and regret they're hiding from this decision. You can be angry at them for their decision but then you're rejecting your family and you have to decide if you can live with that decision. Forgive and forget if you can.

It was for them to decide what to do, not you. They will have to live with themselves now. As for you, i am sorry. This happened to me also. I had to forgive them it made me sick every time i thought about it. You live a few states away, i didn't have that joy of being so far away. Yes i forgave them and now i have peace and we are just on speaking terms- only a hi and how are you that is it. I like it like that. God knows what is in my heart and what they did. I hope you have some luck with this,

Let it go. It wasn't your call, and it's not on your head. The relationships between parents and children are complicated and involve a lot of unspoken issues. If that was the right thing for them to do, then you don't have the right to criticize. Just because you loved your grandmother doesn't mean everyone else did.

They need to let go of their bitterness and anger and so should you! It eats away at your soul. It makes you miserable and most of the time the person you are mad at doesn't even know. Talk to them, a phone call, a letter, in person would be best, but try to make amends. You will all feel better. Ask God to help you let go of the pain and anger you feel, He will help you!

i'm sorry to hear that she died, but you need to accept that one man's angel is another man's devil. life will always be like that..... you have to consider that you don't know the whole story, and even if you where told, you would hold a biased opinion.
people don't just ranbomly cut their family out of their lives, there is usually a history, and one you probably wouldn't understand. just accept that your angel died, but in reality, she probably was far from perfect, and was somebody else's devil.

At this point , there is nothing you really can do. They will get theres in the end. Karma. They are the ones that must live with the guilt. An even if they dont show it .. they have Guilt.

Maybe you can express to them how deeply hurt you were by their actions and try to understand that some people do not know how to forgive and then lead by example and forgive them.

Assuming they're not behaving like most christians....

Maybe they don't want to see another blow up so they can remember her the way she used to be, rather than how she is. It's possible they're not ignoring her, they just find it painful to watch.
