Look at it differently.
It is very likely that God does intercede for people based on prayer and for His purposes. Some people may think this then contradicts science, or makes reality hard to understand. However, when you were young, and things occurred that you did not understand, you accepted it or tried to understand by asking questions.
For example, maybe your dad had a remote control for the TV, when remote controls were new. He didn’t show you the remote control, but used it to miraculously turn the TV on and off, and change the TV channel. As your parent, it was his choice to do this, or to explain it to you. Maybe he did not want you to have the knowledge of how to use the remote control until you were older.
The main point is the event was paranormal to you, and cause and effect to him. The same with answered prayer. It may seem a miracle to us, but God caused it.
“One man’s magic is another man’s engineering. Supernatural is a null word.” -- Robert A. Heinlein
For example, how did the miracle of water getting changed to wine occur and why? We will never know if it did happen, or how it happened. If it happened, it was amazing at the wedding 2,000 years ago, so it was documented. However, accepting that it could have happened, when you use the tests:
First test: If this story was not in the Bible, would it change my faith? No, it wouldn’t.
Second test: Does the effort to convince people that this story is key to their faith cause, them to disdain my faith? In many cases it does!
Therefore, your choices are that you either:
1. Believe it happen, and have faith in this event.
2. Do not believe it happen, and have no faith.
3. Reserve judgment, until you learn the truth.
What is the message?
God can provide extra-ordinary power to you, when He is involved in your life.
“Ask and it shall be given to you; Seek, and ye shall find; Knock, and it shall be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7
“The gods help them that help themselves.” -- Aesop

Sort of, but the further we get into exploring physical matter and it's possible uses, we have stronger experience on the now in regards to earth, life, humanity, etc.
We can only go so far though, it got to a point where we must now take some of these so called new age scientists and give them some credibility just to see where it goes. What do we have to lose?
We have to explore all angles, but we refuse to? I don't understand?
