i know iran, russia, and china all have a relationship and close from what i have read and heard on tv. both china and russia refuse to impose sanctions and we all know why. so, how much of a war could this turn into if we went to war with iran? would it extend into russian and chinese military intervention?

I am more inclined to think it will be N. Korea that gets China into the fray.

Russia is still re-building. I expect them to stay out of it as long as possible and then come in on whatever side is winning.

Remember, Russia and China could be friends or mortal enemies at the drop of a hat.

China benefits too well financially from the US right now. We are their largest buyer. They won't get involved until it looks like the US is going under anyway.

During the Cold War Russia and Iran had far closer military ties, which may have signified involvement (albeit, clandestine) of Soviet military advisers in case of a military conflict between Iran and other countries. Those ties gave Iran the benefit of out-dated Russian military equipment, and Russia -- a reliable ally and a somewhat secure Caspian border. That made for an uncomfortable situation during the Iraq-Iran conflict, since Russia was actively supporting both sides through arms sales.
Things have changed now, since the driving force behind Russo-Iranian and Sino-Iranian ties are commercial in nature. Russia has joined the open free arms market, and still benefits from arms sales, not unlike in years past, but no longer commands the same amount of respect in Iranian internal affairs. China as an emergent (or, established, by some references) 'merchant of the world' sees the African and Middle Eastern states as a valuable and indispensable market. Think about it: if a specific nation refuses to follow limits and embargoes, that market is theirs without competition.
That being said, there will be absolutely no military intervention from either side. The stakes are far too high, especially for Russia, who has pressed for diplomatic resolution of all of the recent conflicts in the region. For Lavrov (FM) to change his tone in that case would be an equivalent of political hypocrisy.
In the very unlikely event that the Commander-in-Chief will involve an already overstretched and hurting military into yet another potentially explosive conflict, both Russian Federation and China would make calls similar to those made before the start of the Iraqi conflict, decrying violence, calling for protection of sovereignty, etc. The heads of the Persian state know that, and that is why their rhetoric is so provocative in nature. Similar to taunting a lion that is currently caged, and may prove to be a serious mistake to them, both diplomatically and politically, if US approves Russia's ascension into the WTO, and turns to look the other way.

The U.S. could win a war against all three of them. The only thing China has more of over the U.S. is number of soldiers. But how the hell would China get those 10 million soldiers to the U.S.? They dont have a ship large enough to carry that many people... not to mention if they did, it would be blown out of the water by our subs and fighter jets. Plus we are China's major buyer of there cheap@$$ crappy goods, and if they went to war with us -- they can kiss there economy good bye! And China's government can't keep up with the corruption and stuff in their country right now -- what makes anyone think they would win a war against the most powerful country? LOL! China's gov. has to create 20 million jobs a year due to there pop. // China will fall soon -- my guess is in 2009 -- I've read a couple books on it and thats when most people are guessing for China to head down hill. For the other 2 countries they would be easy to beat, their just like the French... Cowards.

People have to eat; right? Check how much food and agricultural support we provide Russia and China. Unless there is significant direct provocation by the US against these countries they have little interest in involving themselves in any middle east conflict.

Russia doesn't have the hard currency to support a war nor have they forgotten their inability to defeat the US backed Afghan war or their humiliation in Chechnya. And China...they are currently focused in spreading their gospel in Africa.

We have gone long enough without a world war. It's been 50 years so based on history we're ready. The slicks and chinks won't intervene as long as we offer them the promise of oil when over. The Israelis will do the first line of dirty work and then we'll nuke the little bass terds.

Why should Russia, China or any other nation support zionist ideas embodied in US foreign policy? One way or another, the REAL terrorists and imperialists (those cowards who invade sovereign nations and bomb civilians) will be tried for war crimes!
