BF dumped me thru email message only I bought 4 R/T tickets to CA from IL and now I can't use them or get my money back. Should I take him to small claims court in IL or what should I do? He won't respond to my email messages or calls and said if I harass him he will contact police. Help

Unless he signed a contract to purchase them from you there is nothing you can do. P.s. 4 rt tickets wouldn't account for the 2 of you anyways.

Try to settle it with him first. Hopefully you had him sign a contract or agreement stating that he would have to pay you back. If not, I would see what you can do about taking him to small claims court because I too live in IL and I know that tickets from IL to CA ranges from $400-$600/ticket. If that doesn't work, just make sure everybody knows how much of a jerk he is. Good luck.

No..it will probably cost you more in the long run. Not to mention keep you in contact with him and make you upset if you lose out. Most likely you would lose anyway since there was no contract with him. However, I would find 3 awesome friends to go with me and have a blast, take pictures and email them to him with something like, "sorry you missed it, I had more fun without you, glad things went the way they did...just wanted to tell you thanks for not ruining my vacation!" HAHAHAHAHAHA..AND...next time make sure you aren't the one footing the bill for things, get the money up front or don't go!! Good luck!

No, you should learn from this experience. Don't be willing to spend so much money on ANY guy. Period. You made the choice to buy the tickets, and you had no contract with him. He'll just claim you bought them on your own, without telling or asking him. Expensive lesson. Let it go.

Ask the airlines for a voucher. They will refund the money to you but you would have to use the same airline next time you travel. Or you could invite some of your friends to go with you and just chalk it up as a learning experience.

no, you bought the tickets. That's not his fault or legal responsibility. Would you pay him if he bought the tickets? I know I sure wouldn't, I would however either use the tickets myself or sell them to someone (post a notice at work or in the paper) Good Luck!

No, his not worth the dog dung on the bottom of a cops shoe. Take a girlfriend go on the trip and let him she you whooping it up without you. Better yet, don't do near him, get another guy while you're there! Have fun gurl!!!!!!

Why don't you just use them and take a vacation. Don't let it be a total loss. Hell, you might meet someone while you're on vacation!! Turn a negative into a positive. OR take a friend with you and again party your butts off.

I would consider this a valuable experience and move on. He sounds like a real jerk and isn't it worth the price of the tickets to have him out of your life? Eat the cost and consider yourself lucky this is all he took you for.

2 words: Judge Judy...although she might (as others have) tell you to chalk it up to experence, she seems to be a very good judge (no pun intended) of a person's actual intentions, and may therefore find that he is liable for at least part of the cost...worth a try, if you don't mind the publicity....
