To me, being Peaceful and Still means having faith in something bigger than me and my own personal understanding. We all come across things and situations in our lives that cause us to become stressed or feel anxious. It is in those times that we must find something within ourselves or our spirit to calm the anxiety and help us refocus and find peace. Being STILL helps to achieve that focus and hence bring us to a place of peace. Only through being still can we allow our minds to settle and find the answer...or for those who have a faith in a higher being, being still allows God to work within your mind and heart to bring you peace that you could not attain on your own.

It's two separate thoughts: Peace! Be still!

Like Hey! Relax!, or, Relax! Shut it!

Just being silly.

When we go to the Lord in prayer, we are to think of nothing else but HIM. To be quite, to focus on HIS will.
