Stick your finger in his mouth and feel if he has any teeth coming in. If I were you I would get something different then the Oral gel for the teething. The nighttime stuff didn't work well with my son and this stuff is dangerous to us. They have these teething tablet called Hyland's teething Tablets and are safer to use then the Oral Gel. Go to www.epinions.com and review these if you would like. I sure wish that I would have.

Sounds like teething to me. Keep the baby oral-gel on hand, give childrens tylenol and something to chew on. I always found a cold damp washcloth worked best. Be patient, it won't last forever, and remember that he is hurting. Poor little guy :(

My twins went through that around 5 months too. Part of it was teething - which we treated with orajel and about half a dose of infant tylenol. The rest was just a phase that they were going through. It helps to be especially attentive so the baby knows that you're their for them. We gave lots of hugs and spent a lot of time reading.

It could be teething but another thing to concider is, are you feeding your babe enough. Mind you I'm not trying to call you a bad parent, but my friends 5 month old was getting fussy like that and her Ped asked how much she was feeding her (bottle/ounces) and she found out that she was suppose to feed her 8 or more ounces a feeding. Once she fed her more she stopped being moody and wining.

my so was like that when he teethed we got some teething tablets in his milk from hylands and that helped him sleep and then he seemed to be less crabby my son would sleep 4 to 6 hours at a time but if you are concerned then maybe you should call your peds nurse she might have some ideas for you!

You're probably on the right track... but you need to use children's motrin or tylenol too... my little girl has 6 teeth now... if it's not that he may have a viral infection... get him checked out

kids have a right to be in bad moods let him be, hope you don't think you're pregnant, babies usually become independent when you are expecting another one , they grow up fast ,as if they were trying to get out the way for the new comer
