I have always had thin fine hair. When I was little it was so fine that if I wore it in a pony tail my hair would fall out! Luckily I don't have that problem now...but i'm trying to grow my hair out longer..problem is...my thin hair looks even more thin long. I really want hair at least to my shoulders. I use volume shampoo and conditioner and root lifter...almost everything known to man to help...but it doesn't help. What about using sponge rollers at night and then straightning it in the morning? Anyone try this? Any suggestions would be very much appreaciated. Oh and please don't mention high price products b/c i'm a poor college student that shops only at walmart...and target when i'm lucky = D

I have worked in college towns, so I understand the "poor college student...", but it's soooo important to use quality shampoos and conditioners on your hair. Especially when you have fine, thin hair... I have the same hair type. Redken can be found in most salons and really isn't that expensive. About 8.95 and 10.95 for the shampoo and conditioner and with quality products like this, you don't need to use as much. Another plus for you, with fine, thin hair, you will only need a teeny bit of conditioner, so it will last a long time. So, here's some of my favorite products for your (and mine!) hairtype:
Shampoo- Redken Body Full, Paul Mitchell Extra Body Daily Shampoo
Conditioner- Redken Body Full, PM Extra Body Daily Rinse, PM The Cream
Root Lifter- Redken Guts, Sexy Hair Backcomb in a Bottle
Hairspray- PM Extra Body Finishing Spray
I know what you mean about hair looking thinner as it gets longer... so you can try some layers, if you haven't already, it gives an airy illusion of fullness. Another thing, color, no matter what shade you prefer, blonde, brunette, red... you can make it look like you have more hair with a darker shade underneath and let it lighten up towards the top. I'm not talking drastic, let's say your a blonde, the darkest color could be a level 7 or 8 and with subtle highligts, graduating to the top a level 9 to 11. You should definitely see a stylist for the color, and it's worth it... if you really love your hair you'll invest in it. It's the first thing people see when they look at you and it frames your face.. what's the point of hanging a million dollar painting in a frame that came from the dollar store? I wish you happy hair days!!!

well we are on the same predicament! what i do is that aside from using shampoo for fine limp hair, i blow dry my hair everytime i go out. when doing so, i blow dry my hair starting from the roots to the tips. when you have the money, invest in an appointment at a salon, have them blow dry your hair and observe how they do it. practice makes perfect.

downside of this though is that you have to go for treatments for your hair so it wont dry from all the blow drying. there are cheap hot oil treatments that you could do yourself. or you could buy a shampoo for thin limp hair, then use a conditioner for dry or damaged hair.

Get some actual hair extensions. they are slightly costly, yet they're truthfully nicely worth it. I even have very skinny, superb hair and that i've got been given the actual hair extensions for my wedding ceremony. Gave my hair lots physique and volume. best section with regard to the actual one is you are able to curl, shampoo, hairspray them, etc. and that they clip good in. Your stylist could be attentive to a stable style to propose.

if you have blonde hair this will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There had been this guy in my class who else had golden blonde hair that had been a medium brown near the bottom part. When he came back to school after summer vacation, it was practically platinum blonde!

The reason why is everyone with blond, why can't you just have jet black tresses with some blonde or blonde curly hair with some jet black hair. Right now you don't have to choose.

try mousse . it may make your hair seem thicker. and you may need to spend a little more on products if the ones you are and have used isn't doing it for you.. Ask a beautician for advice...
