I was asked to babysit a friends son from around dinner time till the next morning and she wants to know how much she should pay me. I haven't babysat since I was a teenager so I have no idea, if I wasn't completely broke I would do it for free... What sounds fare concidering she is a friend?

Well since it's your friend you might want to give her a good deal. In general I would say $5 an hour until "bedtime" and then for free would give you a little money and not stress her budget too much. The $5 an hour is pretty standard now and the free sleeping time is your bonus to her as a friend.

Well i babysit a 16 month old from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and i get 40 $ a night so im thinking either 20$ or 15$ a night sounds good because a 16 month old is hard to handle and a 4 year old is kinda hard but much easier.

My sister gets paid $10 an hour for 2 kids, but then again she is CPR certified and with a degree in Education. I'm guessing that is like 6-9, which is 15 hours, so like $50 maybe? You are feeding him twice.

When my daughter was younger . My gf babysat her. She would babysit from 4 til 7am. I was on shift work at times. She charged me 80.00 week for sat and sundays she charged me more 120.00. She feed her dinner and breakfast, gave her a bath and helped her with home work.

Just tell her, since you are a dear friend, I really do not want to charge you anything, and tell her, whatever it is worth to you, I will be happy with that. Tell her it was a pleasure to watch her son, and whatever she gives you, be happy with it. I bet you she will give you more money than you expected. If she does insist, tell her $40.00 would be enough. I hope it works out for you..good luck..

minimum wage for starters. or flat rate if its every day...about 60-80 dlls for 5 days.. i am sure your friend knows it would cost almost double somewhere else.
at least she knows he will be in good hands with you. i babysit my friend's son for free just so she can go to work nite shift every day (but he is not a baby,so its easy)and she does other favors. like watch mine if needed.

Now a days it's usually $10/hour. I know several people who get paid this much for baby-sitting. But again she is a friend, so I don't know.... (If they have money, go for it).
