I am planning a vacation to Abha and would appreciate information about interesting things to do or see there.

It is a mountain city, so it will be cold. It is better to go there in the summer because in the winter you cant see any thing (fog). Accommodation is plenty in there but it is better to arrange it before you go there. It is better to have a car in there it should be a good car because of the nature of the roads. There are two main things that you can do in Abha. You can stay in the city and go to parks, restaurants and events that you can ask a travel agent about. Or you can take your car and visit near by places and villages. There are some good places like "As' soodah", "Alhabalah" and some other ones you can ask about in there.
Sadly some people dont take care of public facilities so you can expect that. The cost of the trip will be similar to other Saudi cities.

Abha (Arabic: أبهاالبهيه) is the capital of Asir province in Saudi Arabia, population 201,912 (2004 census). It is situated at 2,200m (7,200ft) above sea level in the fertile mountains of south-western Saudi Arabia near the National Park of Asir. Its mild climate makes it a popular tourist destination for Saudis.

If you live in Saudi Arabia it is good to go there but you can not go alone you need male companion as women can not drive and can not rent room in hotel and can not go to restaurants unless with family i.e husband , father brother etc. It is very strict Islamic country.

its great place IF you are looking for a chili weather but it ain't suitable for people who wants an active city like jeddah or khobar.... so its more then a relaxing city and less then an exciting one........... cheers
