Based on your info. provided, you are a healthy 23.

Don't listen to people who say you are over weight. Your overall fitness depends on many variables, that ANYONE who says you are overweight without knowing ALL the exact variables is an idiot. Depending on how much of your total weight is muscle, fat, and so on, no one can acurately say that you are overweight by just your weight and height. If you want an ACURATE measurement, you can go to most any fitness club and have a professional give you one. I suggest you listen out for a gym that has a "free" first visit, if you don't want to pour money into a gym, and they usually do a workup on your body fitness using various methods of measurment.

Short answer: Yes. You are overweight. Everyone is so scared to call someone overweight but the numbers don't lie. Sure, being thinner looks better, but think about the extra fat & poor habits affecting your energy level, your heart, your bones, and your confidence. 146 at 23... what will 28 bring? 33?

It's not bad to admit it and try to reduce, in a healthy way. Chances are at 5'3 you didn't get to be 146 lbs by mountain biking and hiking so you will need to adjust the foods you eat and your activity. I was that weight at 5'7 but I'm pushing 40. I joined weight watchers and have already started eating more healthy food, and have gotten back under 140. Nip it in the bud now - you are young!

Are you an athlete or a body builder? If not, then it may be in your best interests to lose a little bit of weight. At present your BMI is 26 and it shouldn't really be over 25, unless you have a lot of muscle or a larger frame, in which case it may be ok. Between 105lb - 140lb is the healthy weight range for your height, but some people may be slightly less or more depending on their frame size and muscle mass.

More importantly is your body fat percentage, which you can check with an online body fat percentage calculator (not always that accurate) or you can buy body fat scales/callipers and check it that way. Your body fat should be between 10% and 30% to be healthy, but ideally, between 20% and 25% for your age. Take care. HTH : )

I am 22, 5'3" and weigh around 135lbs. You have to find a healthy weight for you and to please yourself. We are of the same stature/age but weigh different amounts. You could weigh more because you work out more than me and have more muscle. If you are happy with your body then dont change. I know I am happy with my weight/body and society isnt going to tell me because I am 5'3" I should weigh roughly 115-120lbs. That is insane and I dont want to look like an anorexic Nicole Richie.

Honestly I don't think that is overweight. That is what I weighed last year and it was ok. I went down to 120 when I went on a different medication but I was happy with the way I was when I was 145. Hope this helps you.

Do your trips to market with a list and a time limit; that way, you're not as likely to stray into the ready-made foods section.

Hi, I am 5'3 too, they say between 131 to 141 is the ideal weight, It probably depends if you feel good at that weight, which I think is.
