(the creation and existence of their state.)

In both cases, people from other countries are immigrating to another. The difference is, Mexicans aren't asking us to return California to them. They just want to come over. But Israel actually took land. The UN and non-middle eastern countries supported it, but if we had to give up land to immigrants like Palestine did, we'd be pissed too, don't you think?

If we were gonig to have a stand, it seems that we should be for or opposed to both ideas, not one or the other.

FYI, I think illegal immigration is a problem, but I don't think it's a bigger problem than arab terrorists coming here on legal visas and going to flight school. I think crashing a plane into Wall Street would be more detrimental to our economy, security and morale than Mexicans coming over the border looking to feed their families.

Just my two cents. I like Jews, Mexicans, Palestinians and Americans, so it's nothing against a particular race of people. Thoughts?

A lot of you seem to be having trouble with this, so let me try to break it down. What the question is asking has to do with the American mentality. The American attitude. Why is one type of immigration wrong and the other is ok? Because the UN said it was ok?

katsulover: yes that was a generalization on my part. (ran out of room) While some illegals are just looking for opportunity, others are more malicious in their intent.

I was referring to the average illegal coming over the border, not any type of organized group. But thanks for the links.

Dar: I understand your concerns. But ESL would still exist for legals who can't speak English, wouldn't it?

Phil: you raise some good points! Although I disagree with the Bible part, since not everyone follows it like we might.

Good point. When will people understand that what happens in a part of the globe affect the rest? It just shows how small minded people are when they say that the middle east is not their problem. Wake up! September 11, 2001 happened because of what's going on in the middle east. It is our problem. Or have we forgotten all the people who died that day? Everything's connected. We can't just disconnect from the rest of the world. As for illegal immigration, western imperialism caused so many countries (3rd world) to live in poverty now bound by crippling foreign debt. And it is our problem because they are now in our doorsteps, seeking better opportunities. Welcome to the global community.

Take a good look at the lines set out by the UN for the borders of Israel. They are the same ones found in the bible. The land was theirs before the UN gave it to them. The Arabs were there because they took it from the Jews. But most people do not know that for years after Israel became a state the two parties lived very well next to each other. Then the radicals of both parties started what you see today. As for the Mexicans,if they come with the proper visa then welcome to America. Why should we welcome illegals when they can not do this in any other country. The free trade agreements we signed with Mexico was to make a better life for the people & keep them there. What went wrong?

No one has ever told the Mexican people that they have no right to exist. You are trying to compare apples and oranges,it simply cant be done. While your theory may sound like they are similar they are complete opposites.
Mexico has a homeland, they have a citizenship. They are not people without a country and you know that.
And you are wrong in saying the illegal immigrant doesn't want any thing except to work, read some information on
La Razas plan for hostile take over of the southwest, that calls for getting rid of the white people all together. While unrealistic it is still a sinister plan that a lot of uneducated illegals have bought into.Read a little more on the different radical groups involved in illegal immigration.

No, in fact the points are irrelevant to eachother. I disagree with your argument that they are at all parallel. I totally understand why Palestine was pissed, since it looks like Palistine and Israel were both promised the land by the British before the US got involved, but I don't think that it is relevant today, or to this issue.

I agree that there are other problems in this world as well, but few are worse than our children's substandard schools due to overcrowding, underfunding and diverting of what funds there are to ESL programs for people who shouldn't be here, to begin with.

Americans have the unique ability to focus on more than one issue at a time. This is the immigration category, so the issue discussed here is the one on immigration/illegal immigration.

And you are sooo wrong about them not wanting to "take back" land!! Have you not yet heard of "Reconquista" or their fabled Ẫżţŀäʼn ?
(they have previously banned the word here at Y!A)

Watch the video Duane posted up^there. Quite an eye-opener.

I do not know all the facts about Israel. Truthfully I really do not care about the Middle East. Not my problem. Illegals jumping the border is my problem. In my county in Ohio, there are 2000 Hispanics only 4 are legal. I think that is a problem. That is a fact from the religious group that helps house, get them jobs and driver licenses.

The government is chock full of hypocracy and double standards. Nothing much us common folk can do about it. Unless we took over with a coup, but don't think that's gonna happen.

Your question lacks logic. One has nothing to do with the other.

We had troops in MX City in 1840s. We have given them a country, Clinton gave them industry. That's enough.
