Both. They can play a limited role in active conservation, and serve to raise awareness of non-domestic species. Sadly, all too often they're treated as amusement parks and fail to highlight adequately the serious issues they should be raising.

It depends on the zoos. There are some zoos that rehabilitate wildlife or give animals who wouldn't be able to survive in the wild a good home. These zoos also educate the public, which is very important. However, there are some zoos that should be closed down because they care nothing about the animals and only about making a profit.

If it wasn't for zoos, Pandas and some species of Rhinos might want to be extinct maximum likely. i imagine they're good. Society needs to get on the point of animals and understand them at an early age so that they don't strengthen up fearing animals and seeing them as a risk. Animals should be understood, and revered. Zoos coach in simple terms that. Zoos keep animals from extinction, convey again a number of their inhabitants, and launch them again into the wild. The psychological ailment situations are uncommon, and its more suitable than likely that the paper you examine develop into made be the extremist crew The Humane Society (HSUS). they believe no animals should be killed ever, and believe you won't be able to own pets. They spend fairly some the donations they receive on courtroom situations antagonistic to zoos, hunters, and farms. they have helped 0 animal shelters. the unhappy commercials they make are the reason they achieve this properly, even as quite those donations aren't any further helping the animals pictured. in addition they sense animals won't be able for use for research, even right down to lab rats. They write courtroom situations to videos, shows, and video games that depict any animals being killed or injured in besides. I repeat, they do no longer run a unmarried safeguard everywhere, yet have the money to fund each and every safeguard in the country. two times. I help zoos and sense each and every newborn should be in a position to bypass to the zoo. the money the zoos make is going to good causes as well.

Zoos that take on troubled animals, ones that are imfirmed,(blind, missing limbs, nearly extinct) actually benefit living in a zoo. As long as the zoo is credible and has only the animals best interest at heart. But to just capture, confine a healthy wild animal, well that is cruel.

Zoos are good for zoo animals and students of art and zoology.
They are bad for wild animals.
As long as the zoo is putting priority on keeping their animals in the most comfortable and comforting environments possible, based on that animal's natural needs, they are helping species that could soon be extinct and sharing the beauty of our Earthly Neighbours with children and adult animal-lovers. They especially are inspiring the children to make a better world for the species they see in the zoos by educating them and bringing them closer to them; allowing them to form a bond they couldn't otherwise do. .
I think, certainly I hope, that the old idea of zoos is dead. Zoos that keep their animals in cages and use them for money need to die. Zoos that take in wild animals need to die. But I am sure there are laws preventing all this now; all Zoo-keepers are kind and animal-loving folk. All zoo animals were born and bred in zoos.
You can't undo the past. All you can do is make sure zoos continue to become better places for their in-mates.

If the zoo keeps endangered animals and breeds them and returns animals back into the wild, then I say good. For viewing purposes I suppose I have to say good again but mainly because children like going to zoos to see animals that they may never see in the wild.

I think that they are good for conservation. If it wasn't for the zoo's many animals would now be extinct. They all work toward breeding endangered species which I am all for. I think that they are also very educational for children, not just a form of entertainment. Children learn about the animals and how they could help to save them.

I would say depends on which zoo. Some are bad - mistreating the animals. You can tell this by tigers that pace, dolphins eyes are puffy from chlorine.
Some are good - educate people on animals and their environment, have large areas for them to roam, rescue hurt animals.
