It is better to awaken one who sleeps and dreams of being awake. Why not? Are they not already within the the world of the fully concsious? Technically so, technically not. If I am dreaming of things other than being awake, kindly spare me the pain of being brought into the cold reality that is the world. Dreams are far happier and more entertaining. It is a sad sould who dreams of reality.

Dont bother the daydreaming. They will not have a clue as to what is going on. I know I never do. The daydreaming dream of awaking in another world. Or at least they should, because then it just isnt creative. Anyway, if this person daydreams of sleep, then attention is already lost, not to be recovered. They cannot truly be awakened. Think of anytime in school when you were too tired to focus, despite throwing all your effort into it. It only works a few seconds. You may dream of being awake, but the mind is set to sleep.

If the person is awake, in the sense of being alert, there is no need, but wake him if you must choose between him and the sleeping. Though it will be pointless, he wont yell at you because he is awake and aware, aware of what you are doing.

Some people who are asleep are awake and need to be further awoken. Sleep paralysis is horrible. Wake them when you can. They will like you and thank you kindly.

Never wake up someone unless it'll save their life, because they'll get pissy.
