You pick them up from other people who have them. I get the willies even thinking of the nasty little buggers - ugh!!!!!

Scabies come from someone who is carrying them. Although direct contact is the fastest way to catch them, there dosen't necessarily have to be DIRECT contact with an infected person. You can catch them from using the same drying towel, sharing underwear, etc.. Say a guy/girl has scabies and has had them for a while, most likely they're on that persons bedsheets, clothes and blankets. So if you're hanging around someone who has scabies, the best thing for you to do is stay clear from them until they have it treated. Scabies can jump, and if they jump onto you, and you don't notice right away, they can find their way to your pubic area.
