In my observation most Muslims I know take Islam very seriously. Almost all members of my family pray five times a day. I am saying almost, as I do not know if some do not pray regularly.

Both Shia and Sunni pray. Many go to the mosque five times a day and pray together. I am not sure how many pray only once a week, as the mosques are certainly more full on Fridays than on other days. But many people pray at home, so there is no way of knowing how many do not pray.

We are not supposed to spy on people to find out if they are praying or not. In my family the tradition has always been followed that we do not eat food before we complete our prayers. This way you do not miss your prayers.

In the fasting months when you do not eat during the daylight hours, the intensity of prayers increases if anything. Many who would be a bit lax in their prayers become more punctual, as fasting without praying is meaningless.

In my view a vast majority perhaps 60 to 70 percent pray regularly, if not every prayer each day, than a substantial number of prayers or at least Friday prayers for sure.

Those who do not pray do not profess to follow Islam either. Prayer is the foundation of our connection with the Mighty ONE. My father is ready to pray and waits for the prayer time to come to connect with the BELOVED, for every single prayer!!

May the Lord bless him in many ways. Amen.

I am Shia. Sunni brothers go to the mosque more regularly in my observation and many Shia pray at home unless they are in a predominantly Shia country or region such as Iran and Iraq or Lebanon's Southerm areas etc.

One of the foundations of Islam is to pray and pay the poor due or Zakaat. Everytime prayers are mentioned in the Quran almost always payment to the poor of their rights is mentioned as well.

Both Shia and Sunni pray. Pray and Pay is the way of Islam. Thanks be to God Almighty!!

I think 80% of Muslims take this seriously. There is however those 10% extremists who take the wrong meaning of Islam and then there's another 10% who dont care.
