The Air Force issues each person living on base a mailbox and they can get mail everyday just like anyone else. An average letter takes between 3 to 5 days from dropping it in the mailbox to delivery.

i was in basic training in Texas about a year ago. LACK LAND AFB. and to get a letter, took about a week from California so from S. Carolina it'll probably be 3-4 days. but depending on the drill Sargent, they wont receive their mail for another 2. My flight got our mail whenever it came. much like a reward.

mail gets delivered just like any place else. SC to Texas is the same for the military as it is a civilian. In basic training it even gets "hand delivered" (unless someone was a "bad boy")
If you are sending to an APO overseas, it is still mail and gets delivered every day.

as often as you have mail to get. I assume this individual is in basic. It'll take a few days, depending on the mail system. They'll give it to him the day it arrives.

if you are mailing to someone in basic training or training address than add an extra day or two to however long it normall takes first class mail because it has to get process/sorted by one or two more people after it gets there
