I am looking for the regulations about cross decking in order to find out if anything was illegal about my forced cross decking to another ship

Four words - "Needs of the Navy". Basically, they can do just about anything they want if it will benefit the Navy. The only way around it may be if you have something in writing (in your contract) that would prohibit it. But even then, it is usually written in a way that still allows them to do it.

There are no 'rules'. The Navy has guidelines on trying to maintain sailor's duty preferences and homeports - but none are hard and fast rules.

Depending on the circumstances of why you were cross decked (i.e. - Captains Mast, needs of the Navy, etc), there might be other things you could look under.

Recommend scouring the Navy Regulations - you could also contact the detailer or the command career counselor to find out which regulations to start looking under.

Good luck.

Happens all the time. If the other ship had a desperate need for your rating, and your parent command was either overmanned or willing to gap your billet, they can cut you new orders.

are they TAD or PCS orders? TADs happen even more frequently.

If you need to ask this instead of reading your manual, that is sad, it is the navy, do what you are told!
