Anbesol medication for cold sores, that will numb it up.

When I first got my braces they cut the inside of my lips all up and so my dentist gave me a soft wax that I could smear onto the part that was cutting me so that my lip could have a chance to heal up. If it's soreness from like the preasure sorry to tell you but that's what braces are there for is to move your teeth & with that comes soreness. If you're 21 try having a glass of wine or 2. And if not then maybe some motrin. At my office we give out Vicadin (hydrocodon) ask your dentist or orthodontist for some if he dousn't keep it on hand perhaps he'll write you a script. It never hurts to ask, the worst he can say is no and in that case tell him you don't handle pain well & it's keeping you awake all night long which is making your life difficult. See what happens.Good luck and keep in mind how beautiful of a smile you're gonna have when things are all said and done.

Take Asprin, or Ibuprofen. This won't completly cut out the pain, nothing will, but it will make it not as sore. I had the regular braces and it hurt for the first day or two. Then every time you get them tightened (probably a new retainer in your case) it's the same thing all over again. I just got mine off.

If the braces are rubbing sores in your mouth than treat them with anbesol or orajel brace-aid. Otherwise, I would take Advil or any other type of Ibuprofen.

Advil. I have Invisalign & I was told to take Advil when I first got them & when I changed the braces to decrease soreness.

Try the BEST alternative medicine without wasting your money on allopathic medicines!

Chew on a couple of cloves. They numb your mouth and wont harm natural tissue.

theres not a whole lot you can do for it...my advice-KEEP IT IN! i know its sore, but if you want your teeth to look nice, it has to stay in. take tylenol or advil or SOMETHING! sucking on ice helps too...numbs it.

after a while you'll get used to it. trust me. ive been through more than most...lol

I agree with all the other answers. Take some tylyenol and use ora jel product. In some time your mouth will get use to it.=) Remember what our moms say" you have to suffer to be beautful" =D...

get your self some orajel or simply go to the dentist and explain what is going on, and maybe he can give you something for the pain.
