The way the draft will return is by need, and if the Repub's continue with this war on terror the way they are pursuing it, They will eventually run out of America citizens willing to enlist at the current reward level, and they well be forced to hire more foreigners who want to gain citizenship. That will only work for so long and then they will be forced to go to the draft.
The manner in which Bush and Company are fighting the current war is counter-productive and even creating more conflict. Look at the mess in Lebanon. Bush supported that attack by Israel and thought Israel would just kick *** and take names, but instead, the Lebanon War was a loss for the US and Israel.
The American people need to wise up in a hurry. Bush and the current leaders of the Republican Party are clueless. They actually believe that they are being productive, but the only thing they are accomplishing is making enemies, destroying the lives of America Military Personal and their families and raiding the US Treasury.
Folks, if we want to be a former great Nation, just keep electing this bunch of Juvenal delinquent rich kids to do your thinking. This bunch of leaders is not only real world experience poor but they are also sick puppies who can not admit major mistakes in judgment even when 2700+ military coffins have arrived back home.

there is not going to be any draft, cuz no military leader would back it, no body uses any logic when the media and extreme war protesters out now. look at the military budget now, unless someone comes up with a whole lot of extra money almost to the degree of double the funding over the next 5 yrs than there is not going to be enough money to be funded.
it will take over a year to activate the whole draft process, probably even more cuz congress and everyone will scream about it, and this time next next yr it will start of the election year for 08, and whoever is going to run will face the music, including congressional seats
plus most of you guys are so out of shape, high on dope and got STDs that you wouldnt pass the physical anyways, so take a chill pill, and go back to doing drugs or focus your energy on backing your favorite nominee for the 2008 elections, or even the 2006 congressional races held very soon.
without men and women, who dare to defend the values of this countries from enemies foreign and domestic start stocking up your cellars and watch the chaos that is the world unfold on television. i defend this country proudly because i believe in its freedom of speech, and all that great stuff that i nor millions of ppl do not have in other countries.

The Army just had it's best recruiting year ever.
Of the hundreds of thousands of millitary personnel who have taken tours in Iraq over the last 3 years, less than 3,000 have died there, and less than 20,000 overall have been injured.
By comparison, 6,800 US Soldiers were killed at Iwo Jima in just over a month of battle. A total of 295,000 millitary deaths over a 4 year period, or roughly 75,000 a year.
In Korea, 54,229 dead in 3 years, or roughly 17,000 a year.
In Vietnam, over a 12 year period, 58,000 armed services personnel lost their lives - that is 4,800 a year.
There is no comparison to previous wars that would constitute sufficient reasons to re-instate a draft at this time.

The only people in Washington to propose a draft has been the democrats, bit of course if a draft is enacted, the republicans will get blamed for it no matter how hard they fight against it. But to directly answer your question, no. I think I might kick the crap out of draftee rather than deal with his constant crying and complaining.

The military CANNOT continue to sustain the deployment they currently have, and any increased deployment, likely because Bush is a madman who wants to spread war, will break the military.
Regardless of what Bush & Scumsfeld claim, a Draft is unavoidable.

No, i don't think a draft is in the future. Restarting the draft is polticital suicide. And every person in office is well aware of that fact. In fact, to avoid the draft, the army is planning on recruting forigners to join.

Nah, they won't reinstate the Draft. Be too hard on the Canadians having to harbor cowards again so soon after the Vietnam war.

I think that if we go into a WW III, the earth as we know it will be no more, because it will be a nuclear war.In a nuclear war, you don't need much ground forces. Push a button here and there, and it's all over. Finito.
