Proverb 31 tells how beautiful a woman is and how she takes care of her family and more than anything how blessed she is. There are other passages that say that a woman hair is her and the man's glory. Men are commanded to love them and honor them. You have been sadly misinformed.

The Bible is read with sexist eyes. If the one reading has issues with women having power, then will pick out all the passages that just might support their position. It's all in the eyes of the beholder. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that because of EVE'S sin, women must be subservient. Remember...they BOTH sinned.

As far as God writing it, if he DID write it, then the meaning couldn't change with the times. So, the theory that it was written so long ago that things were different doesn't wash. It was written by men.

US News did a magazine on "Women of the Bible".

They complied research from Jewish, Christian, and Islamic scholars on the Bible. Reading the Bible with an open mind, it seems that the Women of the Bible actually tell alot about how to be Holy. When you examine their part in the Bible, you will see the courage and conviction they faced.

As with any piece of literature, the reader can often sway the words to bond with their own life experiences. It's human nature. Since men were the primary one's educated to read and write it makes sense that these men will bond with what they relate to. So, it is more of a man's insecurites about not being able to create life that comes through in forms of blasphamy against the women ... rather than the Bible.

With this new availability for women to read and bond with their own in the Bible, we are getting closer to our grandmothers. Reality is, throughout history, women are loved and hated. It's just that the hatred has been focused on for too long.

Because the Bible was written by men, in a time and place where women were not valued. I am not convinced that God is against women (He did make them after all, and he don't make junk), mostly because God did not write the Bilbe. Any interpretations of how He feels about women were written by those same men.

God and the bible neither are against women. It is poor interrepretation and religious teaching that make it seem so. How could God be against women when he created them. I never felt more loved than I do by my father in heaven!

He's not- it is not. The Bible is the story of man and God, how God chose a people and the story of how people through the centuries either obeyed God or did not obey God.

Jesus, who came to redeem us all- man and woman honored women in many many ways. The fact that He did not have women Apostles- it was after all 2000+ years ago.

This book was written by men who were intimidated by Women.

The Pagan's worshiped the two in the same, and of course, all that came to a halt with Constantine. Hence, Women were lowered in stature - in the Bible and elsewhere. Don't buy it!

God and the Bible aren't.
Women have received many honors and privileges in Bible history.
Miriam, Deborah, Isaiah's wife and Anna were all designated prophets.
Check it out:
Exodus 15:20,21, Judges 4:4-7, Isaiah 8:3, Luke 2:36-38
To whom did Jesus appear FIRST after being resurrected?
Women!
1 Peter 3:7 says we should HONOR women.
So what is the source for your viewpoint?

Because it was literally a "man's world." They no more considered the rights and intelligence of women than they would a bug beneath their feet. Consider the fabricated story of Adam and Eve. Woman wasn't even good enough to be created at the same time as Adam. Instead, she was made from one of his ribs when it was determined he needed a "helpmate." She was also made the villain, on the same level as a frigging snake. This just sets the tone for the rest of the book and as you read through it, it never disappoints. Even as a child, I found this offensive and ridiculous. Needless to say, my Sunday school teacher had to contact my parents more than once about my "inappropriate" questions. LOL Yep, they were inappropriate all right, I was asking for logic and reasoning - she couldn't provide those types of answers.

This is my belief. The woman was responsible for dooming man. Eve tempted Adam into eating the from the tree. This single act alone by the woman could have possibly triggered an inferiority complex. Think about it, she doomed all of man-kind, from the Bible's perspective.
