You ask why do I believe this book written thousands of years ago. What a good question. Before I began studying the bible, I thought it was a book written by men, that is all. Someone brought me to a Calvary Chapel, which is an excellent bible teaching church. I listened. The pastor said that Jesus was the only way to God. I thought, what an arrogant statement. Then I found out that Jesus said that, in John 14:6. Hm. I got into bible study, that was ten years ago.
The reason I believe the bible is because I have put more thought, more time, more study, more reflection into it than I have anything else in my life, and I'm in my 50's. I have seen God transform my life from a fearful, confused woman to a confident, joyful woman, whose feet are firmly planted on the rock of His word. My life is beautiful, full of peace. He reached down and saved my unbelieving father four days before he died. I had prayed for him for ten years. Just as the bible says all the books in the world could not contain the things Jesus did, all the books in the world could not express my gratitude to God for all He has done for me and in the lives of my family.
I appreciate that you are asking questions and that you don't understand these things. If you don't mind, I want to offer up a prayer for you right now, that God will show you the truth, the life and the way, and I ask that in Jesus' name.

Well, the first reason I believe the Bible is I get to hang out with the Author every time I read it - which is really great!
The thing that's awesome to me about the Bible is it isn't just one man. Every book agrees with every other book - all 66 books of the Bible all agree and are all on the same track/wavelength. 2 Peter 1:19-21 says:
19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
The Bible is not one man saying this is what God said. Through the ages, from Moses to the apostle John, God breathed out His word and moved on these men to speak these words forth and also to write them.
How are you going to get 2 men to agree - even when they're sitting in the same place at the same time? And we have 66 books, written by different men at different times throughout a 1500-year period or so of biblical history, and they all agree. That, in case you don't know it, is a miracle!
As much as I take comfort in the stability of these facts, there is something even greater and more precious to me than that. Every time I open my Bible, I know God, the Author of the Bible, is with me. I feel His presence. He has given me His Spirit on the inside that bears witness that the things I am reading in the Bible are true. And even more important than that, I feel the life that is in those words. It's life that cannot be discerned by intellect. It's life on the inside that is like no other. My spirit literally drinks in these words, and I feel the renewing and regeneration that's taking place. It's tangible. And it only makes me want to come back for more because it's so good!

I believe the Bible though penned by man was inspired by God. It is impossible to make an unbeliever have faith in a book that you deem a lie. All religions are based on faith. If you don't have faith, it is very unlikely you will believe the BIble is the inspired word of God. If all mankind were to apply the principles contained in the Bible the world would be a better place. Principles such as: Love your neighbor. Also the Bible encourages people to cultivate the "Fruitage of the Holy Spirit": Love, Joy, Peace, Long Suffering, Kindness, Faith, Mildness, Self-control. It is hard for anyone to deny the fact that if all man cultivated these qualities; the world would be a much different place.

I'm still not understanding, but I will give it a try anyway. I believe the Word because it was inspired by God and nothing will ever be able to change my mind on that because I have experienced the truth of it for myself.
What has God done for me? I'd have to write you a book about that one, but to make it short for you, first of all he has given me the assurance of heaven, a life that is abundant, health, family, love, joy, peace and hope......and a lot more than that. He has saved my children from death numerous times. I've seen Him heal many times with just a simple asking in prayer. I've seen the sun rise daily and the sunsets that are amazing and that bless me so much. I've seen baby deer playing with their mothers in the field. Birds that make fancy nests and that are every color, shape and size that could ever be imagined plus more. Should I go on? I won't because I'll end up typing here all day and night long. But those are some of the things God has done for me.
About the job, if you have strength to work and then get to enjoy the fruits of your labor then that is a gift from God.

bible was not written after christ, most of the stories in the bible already existed before christ, even before moses, it is a compilation of ancient texts of what people thought of life and god 4000 years ago, the god of bible does not know snow, the land never freezes and the day is almost always divided in two almost equal halfs, so there is no where on earth where sun does no go down for months at a time, most of the stories of the bible were written by the tribes of the jews before moses, who do you think they will claim to be the god's chosen people,, ofcourse the koran is based on the same stories, just stories,

You either believe or you do not.
If your heart is hardened to the point that nothing will convince you why do you care?
If not, why don't you search for God in a place that you might actually find him.
The bible is the inspired word of God. You are free to not believe if you wish, God gave you free will to love him or to not love him.
I don't follow the Bible only, I also follow the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church that started 300 years before the Bible by Jesus himself.
You can spend your days typing hate on this silly forum, or you can go out and seek for yourself.
Or you can start here:

Peace and God Bless you!

One of the strongest arguments for the accuracy of the Bible is its 100% accuracy in predicting the future. These future predictions are called “prophecies.” The Old Testament was written between approximately 1450 BC and 430 BC. During that time, many predictions of the future were recorded in the Bible by God’s prophets. Of the events that were to have taken place by now, every one happened just the way they predicted it would. No other “sacred writing” has such perfectly accurate predictions of the future.

spelling matters, punctuation matters, and sentence structure matters also. Look back at this message you wrote, it's gibberish. You need to quit laying out of school and get a good education if you want to succeed in life.
