anybody can look at the messianic prophecies and its obvious that jesus didn't fulfill them. thats why christianity came up with the idea of the "second coming". they needed to explain why jesus didn't do anything the messiah was supposed to.

well, here are the criteria the messiah must fulfill, according to biblical prophecies:
- he must bring perfect world peace
- all weapons will be destroyed
- he will usher every single jew back to the land of israel
- he must be a physical descendant of David on his father's side (joseph doesn't count)
- every jew in the messianic age will know torah without having to study it
- the sanhedrin will be reinstated
- the temple will be rebuilt
- ALL people in the world will recognize the one G-d
- and lastly, he will be a TORAH OBSERVANT JEW (jesus actually said that the law was irrelevant now - the exact opposite of this prophecy)

there is actually a good deal more but i don't remember them all. i pose the question here, which of these prophecies did jesus fulfill? NONE. he didn't even come close. all the christians have are some vague prophecies about being born of a virgin (despite that the hebrew word used here, almah, means simply "woman" not "virgin") or another one of "they pierced my hands and feet" (despite the fact that it in hebrew this verse actually says "like a lion, they maul my hands and feet" and its not even a messianic prophecy, its simply king david whining about how his enemies are chasing after him).

Jews say Jesus did not fulfill the Bible Prophecies, but History tells he did. In Isaias (I don't kwow how you translate it to English) the Bible says the year and the month in which Jesus would be born, in Daniel it says the year, the month, the week and the day in which Jesus was going to be Crucifixed, and in the New Testament, it confirms that Jesus is the Mesiah. The jew priests of that time hidden the truth to the jews 'cause they were afraid of their political status and did't want to be embarrased because they rejected the Savior, and Rome did not want to recognize someone else had the kingdom of earth because they were the governors of the world. That's why most of the jews donot belive Jesus is the Messiah, because they don't know the facts.

The bible tells us, in the book of Romans, that since the Jews denied Jesus as Messiah, they have been temporarily blinded and the gospel was then given to the gentiles. What we are living in now is the "church age". There will come a time when the Jewish people will know who Jesus is...that He is indeed the promised Messiah, but it will be after "the fulness of the gentiles has come in". God will deal with Israel again, sometime in the not too distant future.

The Bible proves that Jesus fulfilled prophecies. Just read the book of Isaiah, for example.

Jews are still looking for a human King. Long ago, God was their King, but back in the days of Samuel, they kicked Him off the throne...God warned them what a human King would be like, and He told them the truth.
Still, they're waiting for another David...

Because HE did.
Jews didn't believe because all the human beings had to hear THE WORD, when all of them will hear IT, the Jews will agree with that.
Because GOD IS LOVE.

If you solicit an answer from "Religious People" don't ask them questions like "why do people continue to believe this stuff". You'll never get an answer you can use

It isn't necessary to believe that Jesus was the Messiah to recognize the beauty and practical value of his thought. He taught people how to free their minds and hearts.

The average Jew has a higher IQ than the average Christian, for one thing. Early religious brainwashing is highly effective and long-lasting.
