There is a woman at work who thanks Jesus all day. "Thank you Jesus for this meal" "Thank you Jesus for helping me find my keys" "Thank you Jesus for getting us all to work today safely" etc.... Is this a little too much? It is starting to interere with our work. Should I approach her?

I understand. I am a Christian and I love the Lord, but I'm sensitive to those around me. Even when I'm in a group of believers, it gets on my nerves when they can't say one sentence without the Lord this, the Lord that. If it bothers you, I think you have every right to say something. "I really admire how grateful you are to God, but do you think you could tone it done just a little?" See how she reacts. If she doesn't say, oh I'm sorry, of course....then she is doing it for show.

Good luck.

I don't think you should approach her. She has a right to thank Jesus for every thing if she feels like. I can understand why this might get kinda weird after awhile. If she seems fake, that would be very annoying. The only thing I would say, if I were going to say ANYthing, would be something like how she may be making Christians seem a bit, well, weird - but I wouldn't say it that way. Hmmm.

I think you can be too religious, but not too spiritual.

It is too much. You might suggest that she do her thanking silently. If she persists, you might be able to take it further.....

My own inclination would be to start thanking satan, or some other mythological creature, for everything! But I'm immature, so don't listen to me.

Someone made a good point - DOCUMENT THIS! I should have thought of that myself. The key to dealing with this kind of situation in the workplace is documentation. Every time she thanks him and it disrupts you, write it down. Keep a log.

I used this method to get my boss fired. Not over thanking jesus, however. But it was my notes, scribbled on scraps of paper and even napkins, that put the final nail in his career.

I don't think that it is too much, perhaps she could be quieter though? I know at my workplace we pray at our meal together and discuss the bible and what we have learned, but we do that together in a break.
I don't know if she is being Pharisitaical(sp?), in her prayers? Are you a christian, can you talk to her in a biblical, and of course a professional way. Silent prayers are just as meaningful and sometimes much better. Do you work in a christian workplace that encourages this kind of behavior? or would it just cause bickering if you say something to her?

No,isn't much. Her heart is very close to Jesus, that is very good, but she must speak in her mind with Jesus, because few mens understand that.
In my life is happened the same,in the morning i wash my tooths and in my mind i hear 'take the book' and i don't do that because i am washing my tooths now....and at my job i need that book...and i remember the voice in my mind when i was washing my tooths and i don't respected that voice which whants to help me...(Can be the voice of my guardian Angel and i thanks God for Him).
At the Medjugorje The Saint Mary said that isn't 'good look', just the Help of God,God takes the things(or the people) which we need near us.Trust God. I understand, when is a complicate situation,i mustn't take decision,i must whait ,to see what will happened without me,and wait for somebody to speak to me,after that i will understand what i must to do,that will be the God will for me,I trust in the will of God,because God sees in my future and show me what is better for me.
Too religious can be a religious teacher or a priest, but an usualy men haven't the time for that, but is the most nice thing in that world,to live in a part of Paradise in that world.

WELL YOU COULD ALWAY GET BACK AT HER. "THANK YOU SATAN FOR THIS MEAL, THANK YOU SATAN FOR MAKING MY PHONE RING, ETC." OR IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THAT, YOU COULD DO WHAT I DID. CELEBRATING THE "CHURCH" OF THE PRICE IS RIGHT. PRAY TO BOB BARKER, CELEBRATE THE WORD HE SPREADS ABOUT NEUTERING YOUR PETS...IT DROVE A JESUS JUNKIE AT MY WORK UP A WALL, BUT THEY GOT THE HINT.

Does it really interfere with your work for her to say "Thank you Jesus", or does it just make you uncomfortable? Would it still interfere with work if she were thanking the cook for the meal, thanking a friend for helping find her keys, thanking you for driving to work safely, etc. I've never heard of saying "thank you" interfering with work.

Yes, one can be too anything. Even the scriptures teach us that balance should be displayed in all things. If it truly is interfering with your work, I can see why a careful consideration of approaching her would come to mind. But if you decide to do so, it will be a very delicate matter. You would have to be extremely cautious and should also consider using scriptures in support of whatever comments you make. I'm sure she would appreciate that.

Yes you can be too religious. Bible even shows you this. Jesus talked about the religious zealots being like white washed coffins. Appears clean on the outside but dead on the inside.

Jesus isn't about religion. He is about a relationship.

Only if it is not a personal issue. If it really is a problem then address her to see if she could maybe keep all her "thank yous" a little bit quieter---if she's "too religious" then she shouldn't mind. She should be happy to comply.
