But there are very close ties between law enforcement in the two countries.

If you do a crime in the states you can expect Canadian cops to arrest you if they find you. It's just that they tend to be busy with their own work.

They speak the same language and have a lot of unofficial connections.

Just because someone runs to Canada, doesn't mean that person will get away with their crime. It just means a different set of cops arrest you when they find you, and well, a free trip back to the United States, payed for by some hard working persons tax money.

same-sex marriage is in elementary words legal in 9 US states and the District of Columbia. same-sex marriages from different juridictions aren't any further recognized. even with if 2 human beings from Florida went to ny and were given legally married, they would not be in Florida. yet i think that interior 5-10 years, it is going to likely be legal in all 50 US states.

True, and Canada doesn't extridite to the US-that's why all the draft dodgers went there in the Viet Nam war and the slaves escaped there.

Um...except in the US EMbassy in canada...otherwise, they're a different country. yea, haha...USA actually doesn't have jurisdiction i n other countries, as much as it seems they do these days.

That's not to say that the Canadian agencies can't work in tandem with our own police departments in order to catch a wanted felon.
