Some of the major differences are:
XP Home cannot join a domain
XP Home does not have remote desktop
XP Home can only support one processor (Pro can do 2)
XP Home cannot encrypt the file system
XP Home cannot do group policies
XP Home cannot do roaming profiles
Mainly - it's JUST for stand alone computers

XP Pro is superior, in my opinion.
For specs, go to Windows' site and compare the two.

I have used both and am still not sure, although I rely on Pro. Vista is almost here; so X-p is outdated anyway.
