Contrary in our thinking but not in God's mind.

The cross and the resurrection is what added conradictions to our thinking, because we do not come to a full understanding of what the cross means to the Heavenly Father.

Now you and I as a born again believer are now viewed by the Father as perfect because when He looks at us He sees Jesus's blood plus His perfection. So all we have to do is live in that perfection and when we don't forgiveness is available, so the challenge is to keep this positive relationship going . It is all under the banner grace because of Jesus our passover lamb. The blood has been applied to the doorpost of our hearts and now the spiritual death angel passes over us.

God's Gospel:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

No, I think that they are imparted on you by social pressures. I think where they contradict is their connections with one's own selfish will.

But I would think that those things you mentioned are not contradictory but just polar. Sacrifice is not the opposite of mercy, for example. They don't contradict each other. If they did, a merciful sacrifice would be an oxymoron, which it isn't.

There are two aspects of the Lifeforce. We understand them as the maculine and feminine. Passive and aggressive. When
humans lose touch with their spirit, which is made of both of these aspects. They are subject to what we call bi-polar.
