It's brilliant, I try and drink every day to keep healthy....also like the feeling! And I wouldn't have a lot of my friends if it wasn't for alcohol....if we didn't have the pub how would we occupy our evenings? It's great to socalise with your friends in a friendly atmosphere.

In addition....reading so many of the other responses many people seem to have a rather negative view. In moderation alcohol is fine, it is however the cause of so many of society's problems, but that's due to its misuse, not responsible use, I think we need to appreciate the difference. I had a glass of wine with my meal just now, I'm not going to drive, that would be silly, neither am I going to attack anyone. etc.

In moderation it is quite good for you, but if you get to the point where it becomes your master and you are the slave to it then you won't be using the word wonderful about it, I'm a recovering alcoholic of seven years, and i wish i had treated it with more respect, and i could be a social drinker now, but i know i can never imbibe again.

Intoxicated, or drunk is just another way of saying that a toxic (poisonous) substance has affected your brain. It comes from the word for arrow, which is how you will feel when the toxicity is wearing off, like an arrow in your brain.
It depresses the area that controls your inhibitions, so you are less inhibited. Even animals get drunk off over ripe fruit, but they too get hangovers. They probably continue eating the fruit because it is high in calories. That's another thing alcohol does. It makes you fat!

Not me. it is far more fun to go to a bar and not drink and watch all the drunks around you. But watch out because reality might set in and you could start to realize that you act the same way when you drink.

Yea, things like beating your wife and kids, promisciuty, accidents, emotional baggage and babysiting, low temper and tolerance, idiocy.

But hey, it's a legit social drug. And oddly enough, my bowling scores are noticeably better when I am pished.

Everything in moderation. Sometimes we think we're just having a good time but in reality we're creating a lifestyle that may be extremely difficult to change. Be careful.

Taken in moderation, it can be ok but, it destroys peoples lives if it becomes the problem or the person drinking it has a problem with it.
