I'm going for a long weekend with friends, so a heads up on good places to go (or bad places to avoid) would be greatly appreciated.

Has nobody here been to Canterbury?

I don't want tourist board websites because they are full of the same rubbish. I want to know if you've been anywhere good.

How pissed off are you at the poor response to this?

There's a place called 'The Loft' that's nice and Baa bar's OK too.

Simple Simon's is the oldest pub in Canterbury. It has a garden and serves food. We had lunch there in June and were favourably impressed with the quality and portion size - I would recommend it. I forget the name, but we also passed a pub overlooking the river which seemed a very nice setting. It was on one of the main shopping streets, leading towards the old city gate (pub on the right, next to a bridge, if you're going towards the gate).

What you should do is go to France for the day, the tunnel isn't that far from Canterbury. Good idea, eh?

as far as i understand, the advice is 8 8 ounce glasses, isn't it? it really isn't any longer a gallon. as well, a number of the water comes from different drinks, to boot because the ingredients we devour. inspite of this...i do not even cope with the 8. i ought to've been a cat in a former lifetime because I only HATE water...LOL.
