I am assuming you are trying to open a Windows .exe file on the Mac. You cannot open a Windows .exe on a Mac, they are two different operating systems and their files are incompatible. You can however run a 3rd party application or OS on a Mac and then you can open and install .exe programs. I have ran the application called Virtual PC for Macintosh and basically at that point you will have both Mac OS and Windows on your Mac. You can even run Windows simultaneously while running the Mac OS too and it does work pretty well using Virtual PC. Also if you have a newer Mac with the Intel chip installed I am told there is a hacked version of Windows XP that will run on the Mac. There may be other programs out there that do or claim to do similiar things, however, unless you are running a full version of Windows such is the case with Virtual PC or the hacked Windows for Macs with Intel chips you will probably end up running into problems.
