although strange, this could be the way she likes to flirt. Depending on her age. if she is around 13 she most likely likes you any older she might just think it's fun to pat you on the head.

If that is her sign of affection, maybe she is a little shy and really wants to hug you, I know some girls that puch men they like, at least patting is gentler.
