To answer you directly I would say we appreciate the effort you put in. It makes us feel special but you are right to recognise that it's only properly focussed attention that really feels good for us.
My key bj points are the following:
It's only the head that is really sensitive.
A wet tongue swirling around the head feels INCREDIBLE and if you are doing that you won't be busy for long.

Well if it takes a while then she's not very good at it. Or you have sex so much it takes a long time to climax. Either way I prefer a bj as foreplay unless its the only option.

Of course it feels good the whole time. The beginning and the ending does feel the best but the whole process feels good. If it didn't then the guy would probably lose his erection during the process.
