that going back to school at the age of 47 is too old? The course I want to take is acredited and will only take one year full time. But I wonder will I be able to find a job at my age? Will a clinic or hospital hire me at my age? Need advice!!

No you are not too old. Continuing your education is the best thing that you can do for yourself. Medicine of any type is a great field because there are so many areas of medicine and people will always become ill and need tests, drugs, etc. If you do go back to school to become an ultrasound tech make sure that you get "hands on" experience. That you get your clinicals otherwise you may have a harder time finding a job. Experience along with education is the key to getting a job as an ultrasound tech.

I work in a well respected pediatric hospital and ultrasound techs are in demand... if you were to specialize in pediatric echocardiogram (echos of children's hearts) the salary would soar!
