I'm painting a sign for a client. I need to be able to wash over the paint to clean the windows, but be able to scrape it off when the time comes. What type of paint won't show the brush strokes? Or is there a primer that I could use under it? Help!

I think it has to do more with the brush that you are using not the paint. Get a very soft fine bristled brush. But acrylic paints work well on glass, especially if it's not going to be permanent, it scrapes off. Your brush has to have soft fine bristles, if not it'll show the brush strokes on any kind of paint.

Sign painters use "One Shot" sign paint. It is oil based and used to contain lead ( the lead prevents brush strokes). It goes on in one stroke thus the name "one shot".

Latex is OK but for the best results I recommend a vinyl cut out or vinyl lettering. Depending on which vinyl you decide to use, it can last up to 5 years and you can use regular glass cleaner on it and it will not bother the sign.

Go to a sign shop like fast signs and have your copy printed on vinyl. its cheaper and easier to put up and remove than painting a sign.

If you spray paint, it won't leave brushstrokes. Or, you can get thicker paint and use a brush with very soft bristles.

it isnt the type of paint that you use, but how you apply it that matters when it comes to leaving brush strokes.. you need to apply it with an airbrush..
