Get some old long playing vinyl records - if your parents don't have any in the attic there are stores that sell the old LPs. These are the wheels.

Make a platform and attach the axle with the mousetrap as the "engine". Make sure the mousetrap cage will disengage the wheels once it has expended it's energy. This car will roll for a couple hundred feet.
