Well.. you are at a bar. Isn't it called 'courage in a bottle'? Lol. Ok.. lame joke I know, but a bit of truth to it. That's not my advice to you though. Were I you, I wouldn't wait for a 'special moment' as I think 'casual' is how you should approach this. Next time she stops long enough to lean over and chit chat with you, simply ask her if you can 'fix her a drink' sometime. Just be casual about it. From there go about things by however she seems to respond to it. If she doesn't take well the idea, don't push it as that'll ruin any future chance with her. She may be standoff-ish at first, but that's not to say she'll 'never' come around. Or maybe she'll just flat out say yes. Make sure to keep it casual and simple from there on out too. Don't take her out to the finest restauraunt your city has to offer, take her someplace you know is fun and you know she'll like. (Not where she works btw) Make your first 'date' with her less of a date and more just you two hanging out and talking outside her work place. From there you should be able to figure out what your relationship with her could potentially be and figure out if you should ask her out on a bit more of a 'formal date'.

Are you really ready to date someone new after a seven year relationship?

I think it would be better to take some time on your own. After a seven year relationship ends no doubt you are very vulnerable and it is not a good time to make dating decisions.

If you want to be friends with this girl then that's fine. But I would leave it at that level. You can start a conversation with her. You don't have to ask her out right of the bat. See how she responds to conversation with you. Take your next step from her reaction to you.

Right now you probably just have a fanasty about who this woman really is. You really don't know what she like in the real world.

You say you drink there all the time. What is 'all the time'? She may not want to go out with a man that drinks all of the time.

After all this time, you should just ask her. What do you have to lose? Want to wait another 7 years to find out that the relationship wasn't meant to be. Better to find out now.

Just outright ask her, whats the worst that can happen, she can only say no.
Ask her what night she has off then ask if she'd like to do something with you?Don't ask then you don't get,do you!

Hey-
Just go up to her and say I would love to take you out sometime to dinner. Then suggest a night. Oh, girls really love when you bring flowers to them. And they also love when it when you pay for dinner.

Just ask her..say...I have a really STUPID question to ask you..." but would you like to NOT have a drink with me?! maybe coffee? dinner?!

And remember;....you'll NEVER get an answer from her...IF YOU DON"T ASK THE QUESTION!
