2 week disposable contacts. If keep them very clean, can you keep the contacts longer than 2 weeks? And if not, how can you tell they are no longer wearable?

I have the 2 week wear lenses. . . . I've made them last for months. My eye doc probably doesn't want to hear that. But I keep them relatively clean - use clean hands to put in/out. When they are no longer wearable is when they are uncomfortable to your eye. Like, when it gets foggy or just dry. Pitch em and get new ones.

But, I'm no doctor - and apparently not a rocket scientist either. . .we both should be wearing them in the prescribed amount of time.

hell yeah.

i wore the same pair of contacts for 2 months straight, and i NEVER took them out. i slept in them and everything. my eyes didn't get infected or anything. i was fine. at the end though, i would often wake up with my eyes a little foggy, but eyedrops took care of that. (regular old clear-eyes, not the kind especially for contacts.)

i wouldnt suggest it though.

I wear them for three weeks b/c I learned from past experience that four weeks is a bit too long. however, if you keep them clean, you can probably push a month

My m-i-l does all the time. She keeps them for like a month. She gets all kinds of eye infections though!
