No. People in the Middle Ages started calling the Holy Spirit the Holy Ghost because they fell into a belief of three persons as God. This belief is not supported by the Bible.

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person (and this is even stated in the Athanasian Creed). The Holy Spirit is the Divine operation on mankind from the one Lord.

Ok you need to understand something very important. When the King James Bible was written they chose the word Ghost. Back then Spirit and Ghost were one and the same. Now there is a connotation on the word Ghost which makes people think of the spector of a dead person that haunts a house and looks like Slimmer on Ghostbusters. Soooo... I don't believe in Spooks and woooooohoooooo haunting in the house. I do believe in Spirits that are beyond our understanding yes. If someone says they are talking to dead people they are either nuts or they are in deep spiritual trouble. The bible actually speaks against anyone who speaks to pray to a dead person (Deut 18:11) OHH that includes Saints too. But if your talking about a spirit a being that is beyond our sensory perception Yes i do believe that.
I hope that makes sense to ya.

The Holy Ghost is one of the three persons in the trinityh. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

I don't believe in a "mysterious trinity." The Bible has plenty of evidence that shows there is one Almighty God. He had a son that was named "Yeshua", which later was translated into Jesus by the Greeks. Jesus is a seperate entity, not the Almighty in flesh. As for the Holy Spirit, it's more like the energy force of God that does his work. I guess you can compare it to "the force" in Star Wars, but much more powerful and used by the Almighty. This Holy Spirit would be transmitted to people from time to time to do Gods work, such as Jesus, and his apostles.
As for believing in ghosts. I can't say if I believe in them or not. There are many stories that bring out the existence of ghosts. No solid proof though. The Bible does mention not to practice talking to the spirits, even though people in the Bible have done this with bad results. When people practice trying to communicate with spirits, supposedly they're really communicating with demons who trick them into believing they're loved ones. It's a dangerous practice, especially with a Ouiji board.
Personally, I would'nt practice this kind of contacts, so I guess I believe in some kind of ghosts.

Luke 12:10
And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Definition of ghost - disembodied spirit of a former person, that appears to people. No, I do not believe it exists. Disembodied human spirits are in Paradise until Judgement Day, and do not interact with living people.

Definition of ghost - disembodied supernatural being not human. Yes, I do believe. Demons and angels are spiritual beings that we may perceive. Demons can deceive us by pretending to be someone we know, or by appearing in some attractive form.

"Holy Ghost" is a King James era translation for what we now search for advice from with because the "Holy Spirit". is an same reason "thou" changed into used to search for advice from with what all of us understand on the on the spot as "you". So it really is an argument of symantics. In French, the note "heaven" is an same time period because the single used for "sky" - their language only does no longer make a distinction between both. In American subculture, we've a tendency to associate "ghost" with Halloween more beneficial than the richer definitions it changed into initially linked with. So the undertaking looks no longer a lot no matter if we position self belief in "ghosts" in accordance to se, yet no matter if we trust contained in the existance of the non secular international - residing issues that do not posess actual bodies. and that i trust maximum folk who position self belief in God will renowned their existance.
