"I love my dog as much as
I love you
But you may fade
My dog will always come through;

All he ever asks from me
is the food to give him strength;
All he needs is love
-and that he knows he'll get;

I love my dog as much as
I love you
But you may fade
My dog will always come through;

All the pay I need,
comes shining through his eyes;
I don't need no cold water,
to make me realize that

I love my dog as much as
I love you
But you may fade
My dog will always come through."

Just spend time with him and do the things he enjoys doing. When I want to show my dog how much I love him I take him for a car ride. He absolutely loves them. He usually goes places with me, but this ride is just for him and I usually go thru a drive thru and get him a plain hamburger. More than anything dogs can sense your emotions so if you feel that love for him he will pick up on it.

Consistancy. Dogs don't hold grudges. They don't worry about the past. They live for today, the here and now. Take him for a walk. Be in control, but not too forceful. They like to feel like they are "part" of group, but that you are the one in charge. They like a certain place that is only theirs, like a big, fluffy bed, a blanket, or a kennel. Different breeds of dogs like different means of affection. My chihuahuas like their kennels with beds in them and blankets that they can crawl under. My lab likes to have her one corner of the yard that she can dig a hole and lay down in, with her toy. And treats, they love to get treats. So, play with him, pet him, give him toys, and he'll know how much you love him.

Teach him obedience and tricks. Take him for walks and playdates with other pups. Give him food that is good for him and yummy treats from time to time but not too much.

Dogs are very easy as long as you give him the basics he'll think you're the best human ever...some dogs you don't even need to give them anything and they'll still think your the best.

Dogs want 5 things: food, water, attention, exercise, and a clean place to go to the bathroom. If your doing all of those then he knows you love him.

If you want to spoil him for being a good-boy, than do exactly that. Spoil him!! Buy him a new toy. A fluffy bed. Some new treats. Take him to a doggie park. Or my favorite, buy him doggie ice cream. Some pet stores sell it, but I buy mine on-line.

I'm not sure if dogs understand love, but they will understand a job well done!!

Show him with attention. Bringing him for walks, brushing him and teaching him new tricks. Anything that shows that he is important enough in your life for you to pay attention to him.

Buying him pretty things ofcourse wont help much.. playing games and quality time is what matters. Pretty much the same as kids lol

Oh my gosh, if you have treated him right throughout the years, believe me he knows. I don't think he knows how much he means to you, I believe he "knows" you are his and he is yours! Just keep making each other happy.
