I think that this is a lovely way to show the people how special they are to you. Since nobody else will see the invitations except the people who get them, there is no worry about honoring one over another. I've been to weddings where someone was honored by something special, and some of the other guests got jealous.

I have never heard of that before but that doesn't mean that you can't! It is your wedding after all! If that is what you want then by all means do that! I think it sounds great personally. Your closer family should be the ones to get the better invitatations and then the friends just get other invitiations. We did different ones for our church invitations but only because we were handing them out in our sunday school and having them sign up in the classroom! I say if you and your fiance like the idea then go for it. It is a unique idea!!!!
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I wish you all the best!

you can do what ever makes you happy. Its your wedding. I am also getting married right now and we have a couple diffrent invitaions going out. We have the invites to our destination wedding in cabo, then we have the reception invites for the close family and then we have dance invites for everyone else. We have so many family and friends that we cant feed everybody. I think that is a little different then what your wanting but the moral of the story is. ITS YOUR WEDDING! do what you want.

Yes that would be great! There are no hardcore rules in having your invitations... just be yourself. If you think you and your husband can express yourselves by using different invitations... then go ahead! Weddings are here to make you happy not your guests!!!

I've never heard of that, but it doesn't sound weird at all.
When I gave my huge graduate recital, I sent out fancy wax-sealed invitations to my family and closest friends (about 30 people) and sent a cheaper, more "fun" version to about 50 others.
I say go for it, if that's what you want!!

Why Not! It's your wedding anf your invites. It's nice to take that extra time for them.
You might like this site, it was helpful to me in planning my wedding. A great support group and sounding board.

For my 21st black & white party I sent out 4 different ones. We couldn't find 75 that were the same. And I didn't fell like making that many. But it turned out really cool. It was unique doing it that way. B/c when my friends would talk about which ones they had gotten.
