Boy do I know the feeling. What i would do is to call the doctor and tell him/her that you are deathly afriad of flying. They will give you valium or some other mild sedative. That will keep you "happy" while you are on the flight. I have to do that just for the hour /hour and a half flight between Chicago and Philly where I go twice a month.

Hey don't worry! I know what you mean about not wanting to fly!! I hate small planes!! I gotta go to South Dakota in a few days and I went to my doctor to get meds for flying. I got Activan, which is for anxiety. I just get all anxious and my stomach gets in knots. try and get into your doc today, let the place know your situation, hope this helps!

I used to be afraid of flying...so much so that I wouldn't go anywhere and I got free passes...for 17 years....but I worked for a major airline for 31 years and gradually came to realize how safe air travel really is...you can go to your doctor and get something to relax you through the trip...it's done all the time.

do some sky diving. seriously. if you are leaving tomorrow there isnt anythign you can do but suck it up. had it been a couple months later, you could ready yourself, but now you are pretty screwed. its not that bad, dont worry about it. do what my psychology teacher does and take a bunch of vicadin, then get on the plane. or just keep ordering from the liquer cart.

get over it, i am terrified too but i flew last year, it was not so bad, just don't freak out like that woman who tried to open the airplane door last year(lol), find some way to entertain yourself and convince yourself that this is such a routine thing, your are not flying into space or anything.

Look, its real simple, flying is regarded as one of the safest forms of transport, and, if you do crash, there is a good chance it's only going to happen once....

be logical.
check this out:
deaths per million trips - airplane: 0.019 - 52.6million to 1 odds of dying
deaths per million trips - car: 0.130 - 7.6million to 1 odds of dying
you are SEVEN times more likely to die in a car accident than on an airplane, and chances are, you get into a car EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I was always afraid too, had to dope myself up, or drink myself to obliviation. Well..my husband was a pilot and he sat with me one time on the plane and explained all the little noises I would hear and come to find out they were absolutely NOTHING to fear.
remember: more people die on the roads than in the air. there is nothing to fear.....
