Yes, they certainly can. In recent years we have learned a lot more about the proper care and nutrition of caged birds. Many pet birds are living longer because of this - long enough to develop health problems associated with old age. As pet birds become older they may be less active and have trouble getting around. In some cases, owners have to make special accomodations for these birds such as special cages and perches.

Yes Birds Can and Do get arthritis...Especially Companion birds. As they have no choice but to set on perches for long lenghts time and alot of times humans don't provide the correct perch sizes. Also they are not provided with different sizes shapes and textures.
Birds in the wild do not get it as much because they choose their own roosts and do not live to be as old due to the environment(weather, predators etc.)

The answer is yes they do.Wild birds tend to die of lack of food ,hard winters or by someone cat. Domesticate bids e.g parakeets live for a longer time ,mine lasted 15years and had arthritis in it's wing.(so the vet said)

Wild birds have short life spans their preventative gene is called early death. Genetically engineered birds such as Chickens through selective breeding do however get arthritis, but normally end up at KFC before it gets to bad.

Naw, I'm sure that birds suffer just a much as you when they get older...but they have to put up a brave front...right to the bitter end. No girl of any species wants to mate with an old sick guy and anyway for both sexes ya don't want ot attract predators.

yes, they do. To help them use different types of perches. Different sizes. Round ones and square ones. How would you like to stand on the same perch day after day? Mix it up alittle bit.

Yes, they can. My mother once had a white tom turkey that was so old, its joints were knarled and it had trouble walking. (It was bought to be dinner, but had such a sweet, charming personality, he became a well loved pet.)
